TVLine just revealed a new female villain will join the cast of “Gotham” for two episodes later in the season, and the new character will meet Selina Kyle! Read the article below (beware of spoilers!):
“Gotham” Launching Season 2 Firefly Arc (and There’s a Cool Casting Twist)
“Gotham” is about to experience a major heat wave.
The DC Comics supervillain known as Firefly will touch down in Season 2 of Fox’s Batman drama — but, in a canon-tweaking twist, the traditionally testosterone-tinged Big Bad will be female.
Sources confirm to TVLine exclusively that relative newcomer Michelle Veintimilla (Lifetime’s “Those Who Kill”) will play the infamous firestarter — and her human alter ego Bridgit Pike — in two late fall episodes.
Here’s the official character description: Enslaved by her brothers, a notorious gang of arsonists, Bridgit Pike is forced into the family business. When she catches the eye of Selina Kyle, the young Cat Woman and the soon-to-be-Firefly team up to put Bridgit’s firestarting skills to good use. But after a deadly encounter with the Pike Brothers, the meek Cinderella is transformed into a vengeful supervillain, hell bent on destroying those who have wronged her.
Veintimilla, known to Broadway audiences as the younger version of Chita Rivera’s character in “The Visit”, will appear in this season’s fifth and sixth episodes.
“Gotham” returns Monday, Sept. 21, at 8/7c
